Mr. Sunil Kumar Pokharel is a seasoned banking professional with over 35 years of experience in the financial sector, spanning Nepal and international markets. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of TISA Bank in Papua New Guinea and Civil Bank Limited in Nepal, where he played a key role in strengthening operations, driving sustainable growth, and advancing digital banking initiatives. Over the course of his career, Mr. Pokharel has built extensive expertise across retail banking, digital transformation, risk management, and corporate governance. He is widely recognized for his pragmatic leadership approach, deep understanding of regulatory environments, and ability to steer institutions through periods of transformation and expansion. In addition to his executive roles, he has also served on the Board of an international insurance company in Papua New Guinea, further broadening his perspective on financial services and governance at a global level. He holds an EMBA in Finance from Kathmandu University and has completed executive programs at MIT in Digital Business Strategy and Data Science.
